My Delicious Culinary Trip Through Morocco

My Delicious Culinary Trip Through Morocco
  • PublishedSeptember 18, 2024

As a food enthusiast, meeting and marrying a woman who is just as enthusiastic about good food as I am was practically a dream come true. It only made sense that our honeymoon was centered around amazing cuisine. It took a lot of thinking, but my fiancée(at the time) and I finally came to a decision. We chose to explore Morocco to discover authentic Moroccan cuisine. But embarking on a road trip in a foreign country required a lot of planning. And among all the other preparations we were supposed to make, we also had to rent a car in Tangier Morocco, which was to be our starting point.

Finding The Perfect Ride

Preparing for our honeymoon seemed a little daunting, but we were ready to see and taste all of Morocco. From the street stands busy souks to fancier restaurants in the heart of Marrakech.

First things first, we needed to secure a reliable set of wheels to aid in our culinary journey. For that, we chose OneClickDrive. We were in need of a car that would be able to handle all of Morocco’s diverse terrain while offering comfort throughout the long rides. As expected, OneClickDrive had just the vehicle we needed.

Renting from OneClickDrive on a previous business trip to Abu Dhabi has taught me to expect nothing but the best from them. We went for the 2023 Fiat Tipo and booking could not be any easier. We arranged to have the car delivered to the Tangier Ibn Battouta International Airport where we were to retrieve it from.

Pick Up And First Impressions

After our relatively short flight to Morocco, we arrived at Tangier, the northern gateway to Africa. Our rental car was delivered on time, and the car we ordered was exactly what we got! The Fiat was pristine inside and out, and smelt amazing. We were poised to start our road trip right away, but decided to get a good night’s rest beforehand at the charming hotel we had booked.

On Your Marks, Get Set, Eat!

Our culinary adventure officially started early the next morning after breakfast. In addition to sampling all the edibles, we drove to the beach where we enjoyed the beautiful waters and rode camels. A first and thrilling experience for the both of us. We visited a couple more locations before we hit the road, tasting on our way through other towns and cities.

To say we had fun was an understatement. The convenience that came with having the privilege to rent a car Morocco meant that we weren’t constrained by the limitations of public transportation. We could take detours, stay longer than planned and also explore areas which weren’t common tourist spots, but had the most delicious and authentic eats.

Dropping Off And Taking Off

After spending the majority of the last 10 days in our amazing rental car, I found myself hesitant to drop it off at the airport. The car had driven us long distances to a lot of amazing destinations where wonderful memories were made. But every good thing must come to an end.

Dropping off the rental vehicle was as straightforward as picking it up. We were done with the entire process within minutes, and had enough time to leisurely board our flight back home.
