Principal of Government Sheikh Fozilatunnesa Mujib Mohila College in Kushtia Accused of Demanding 16 Lac taka Bribe for Salary Approval

The principal of Government Sheikh Fozilatunnesa Mujib Mohila College in Kushtia has been accused of demanding a bribe of 16 Lac BDT to approve the salaries of the college teachers. According to reports, several teachers of the college have come forward with claims that the principal, demanded the substantial bribe as a precondition for processing and approving the salary payments of 7 teachers of the college. The situation came to light after a group of frustrated staff members decided to publicly address the delay in receiving their salaries.

One of the affected staff members, speaking on the condition of anonymity, revealed, “We have been facing delays in our salaries, where principal has approved salaries of others 23 persons (they received salary on 20th June in their bank account). When we approached the principal to address the issue, we were shocked to hear that a bribe of 16 Lac taka is required to resolve it. This is an outrageous abuse of power and goes against the principles of our institution.”

A special committee should be established to investigate the claims from the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh. A stringent disciplinary action is expected by the teachers from the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh.
